My Camiguin adventure

This is how I spent my time in this beautiful island...

December 21, 2007
We woke up early because we have a long day ahead of us. Gusto niyang makarating kami nang White Island before sunset to capture its beauty before the sun goes up.

It's a private boat. I immediately put a life vest in me at siyempre takot ako baka malunod or tumilapon ako sa dagat, while Jay didn't wear anything. Natatawa pa nga siya sa akin. Ako naman, walang pakialam basta gusto ko, I feel safe. Ilang minutes lang ang biyahe then we arrived in this beautiful White Island. I was in awe when I saw it. Sobrang ganda. Hindi ko na pinalagpas ang pagkakataon and I took pictures agad. (see http://profiles.friendster.com/fluidz)

CIMG2165.jpg

Ang pino nang sand, ang linaw nang tubig, at very secluded from crowd. They have some small stalls where some people are selling souvenirs and foods. I actually bought some pasalubong for my friends, family at agents sa work. I bought also a big coral shell para remembrance na ilalagay ko sa station ko.

CIMG2177.jpg

I had so much fun. He will bring me to Ardent Spring.

We had a tour of the island until we reached the spring resort. Ito yung resort na alam ko about Camiguin when I was still a child. And I couldn't believe it's in front of me already.

CIMG2211.jpg

Sobrang relaxing. The water, the nature, the environment. May nakipagkuwentuhan pa nga sa aming nanay who used to visit hot springs in Laguna also.

CIMG2212.jpg

Before we left the resort, bumili ako nang magnet sa mga souvenir shops. Binilhan din ako ni Jay nang sando, remembrance din daw that we were there at one point in time. Siyempre, I was touched with what he did. Unti-unti na akong nahuhulog sa kanya with all the things that he's doing and showing. But that time, I was taking things easy.

We left around lunch time.

CIMG2264.jpg

In fairness, ang sarap nang food nila. After our lunch, we went ahead at pumunta na sa Katibawasan Falls.

CIMG2269.jpg

The falls was overwhelming. It was fun being with someone who's enjoying my camera antics. Iba din yung feeling when you were closer with the falls.

CIMG2276.jpg

I will never forget the feeling I had there. Nakakatuwa dahil for some reason, pareho kaming naka green ni Jay at that time. Tapos yung sorroundings, green din.

Pag-alis namin and we're in the middle of our way back to the town, bigla kong naalala yung room key namin so I asked Jay if it's with him. Yun pala, naiwan niya sa falls pati yung shades niya (this is the second time na naiwan niya yung shades niya. First was in the hotel sa CDO when we left early in the morning and we have to go back to get it). So we went back to get those stuffs.

CIMG2303.jpg

While we're on our way to enter the area, biglang may road sign na "No Entry" dahil may quarrying na nagaganap.

CIMG2256.jpg

Jay was very disappointed as he was really wanting me to see that. I felt that he was really disappointed.

Bumalik na kami nang room to pack our things as we will be heading back to Cagayan De Oro. Doon kami sasakay papunta naman nang Davao. Before we left Camiguin, bumili muna ako nang 12 boxes of the famous Camiguin pastel. Sobrang nakaka-adik ang pastel nila. Sobrang sarap. So no choice kami kundi maghabal-habal papuntang pier. Inanticipate ko na ang butt ache at mahabang biyahe iyon with all of our stuffs pa. Pero since kasama ko naman si Jay, go na lang.

Sa kabilang pier kami sumakay nang barko. Fun yung ride kahit masakit sa puwet kasi I get to see most of the island's area. Pagdating sa pier, I felt some loneliness in leaving the island. Nakaka-attach ang Camiguin. Nagpapicture uli ako before ako sumakay nang barko.

CIMG2309.jpg

I will not forget that island. Very memorable ang experiences ko doon.

CIMG2316.jpg

It was a great feeling travelling with someone na lakwatsero din tulad ko. Whatever is starting to develop between the two of us, I'll find it more pagdating sa Davao....

Camiguin

An island of mystique and beauty.

When we got in to the Balingoan pier, we were told that we need to wait for an hour until the next boat arrives.

CIMG2017.jpg

So we waited inside the passenger's lounge. He left for a few minutes to buy slippers as he forgot to bring one.

I took some pictures (see http://profiles.friendster.com/fluidz) of this journey.

CIMG2033.jpg

It's an hour and a half sea travel kaya in the middle of it, inantok na uli ako.

CIMG2262.jpg

Sumakay na kami agad nang jeep pagdating. Naghintay pa mapuno pero napaalis agad dahil may biglang nag-away na dalawang lasing. Good thing it happened. Hehe. In front of us are two girls na we felt are couple din. Kasabay namin sila sa boat at nasa gilid din namin sila at that time. Funny how are the passengers of that jeepney was.

So no choice but to ride a "habal-habal" again. Ang sakit sa puwet pero okay lang kasi nasa likod ko naman si Jay to support me. It was an experience as I am not used to riding motorcycles. When we got to the resort, our aircon room was fine and the bed was so inviting me to take a rest already. He arranged the payment while I fixed my stuffs. Sobrang gusto kong magpahinga na after how many hours of travelling.

Siyempre, ang Jay, walang pinalalagpas na pagkakataon, we made love that night before we finally took some rest. It made me wonder if he has unfinished business with anyone else. Pero di ko na iniintindi since I am there for a vacation, and we are still getting to know each other...

Butuan City

A half day trip...

CIMG2006.jpg

December 20, 2007
Maaga pa lang, ginising na niya ako as we need to leave the city. He has a conference na gaganapin sa Butuan by 10am. We left the hotel around 4:30am at sumakay kami nang cute na tricycle nang CDO. Pagdating namin sa terminal, I immediately asked him to buy tickets for an aircon bus (siyempre maarte ako sa bus). And he granted my request.

Exciting ang biyahe dahil land tour. I will be able to see some views along the way. And we did. Di naman puno ang bus.

CIMG2012.jpg

It was a 4 hour ride and we passed by Misamis Oriental and other towns. Nakakatuwa pag dadaan ang kundoktor, bigla niyang tatanggalin ang kamay niya but what I do is hinahawakan ko pa lalo nang mahigpit. Hehe. Pang-asar lang.

Pagdating namin doon, pinakain niya muna ako nang breakfast sa McDonalds sa Gaisano Mall (a famous mall in the south).

mcdonalds.jpg

Doon na din siya nagpalit. Doon din niya ako iiwan at babalikan after the conference.

Nag-ikot ikot lang muna ako sa mall while waiting for him. Nang malibot ko na lahat, I decided to go to Butuan Airport para ipachange ang return flight ko. Originally, I am suppose to stay in Mindanao for 5 days only. But he convinced me to extend. That's the excitement of travelling.

resized_bu..airport.jpg

After changing my return flight, I went back to the mall and stayed inside McDonalds again. Hehe. I remember that there was even a guy looking at us and maybe thinking if we are a couple. Hehe.

Kinuha na agad namin our bags and left Butuan city. It was a typical provincial city which somehow reminded me of Laguna. Kung may cute na tricycle ang CDO, Butuan has their own too. At kulay pink siya. Sumakay kami nang tricycle papuntang terminal para pumunta naman sa pier for our next stop: CAMIGUIN!!!

My CDO adventure

CDO changed my perception to the whole Mindanao...

CIMG2004.jpg

There were two beds in the room. I used the one I assumed for me. After he arranged my stuffs, tinabihan niya agad ako. It's been a while and I enjoyed it.

Yes, things happened the day I arrived in Mindanao.

After, we decided to have lunch. He brought me to a native restaurant where it's famous of their grilled chicken.

CIMG1927.jpg

It was indeed right. I had a sumptous meal and he bought me a dessert after as he knows that I have a sweet tooth. But he promised me that while I'm with him, he'll keep me away from eating pork as it is not good to our body according to him. Since it shows in him the effect and the result of not eating pork, I was convinced. After our lunch, we went to a grocery store to buy some stuffs.

We went back to our hotel to put our grocery items. We didn't stay and left again and proceed to Malasag gardens. It's a park famous for visitors.

CIMG1985.jpg

Inside the park are historic reserves, zoo and some forest adventure stuffs. We stayed there for an hour. I think we're the only visitors roaming around so we're kinda playing around with each other. We're like kids left in a play ground. I took some pictures (see http://profiles.friendster.com/fluidz)

CIMG1957.jpg

I had fun. It was an experience. The only way you can go to the park is for you to ride a "habal-habal" or motorcycle. I was able to see native stuffs and a whole view of CDO.

CIMG1966.jpg

Going to the park gave me a chance also to see other views of the city. Now the funny part, pagbalik nang hotel, tulog ako sa jeep in his shoulder. At take note, nasa unahan pa kami. He asked me na ihiga ko ang ulo ko sa balikat niya para makapahinga ako kahit papano. That was sweet.

But I was continously awake dahil somehow, nageenjoy na akong kasama siya. We kiss, we embrace each other, kuwentuhan, things that are moving us into a different level. Para kaming "kami". Tuloy, I threw a quesion if he's really single. He answered me back with a strong "yes" naman. (so may chance if ever)

yes.gif

After that answer, he decided to take a shower before going to bed. He invited me to join him and I accepted the offer. After, we decided to do things again before sleeping. To summarize it, my first day was so much fun already that made me more excited for the rest of the days. He gave me a goodnight kiss and placed my head in his arms. That's how he wants me to sleep. It was time to take a rest after a long, long day...

Cagayan De Oro

My first journey in Mindanao

CIMG1929.jpg

After so many discussion about going in Mindanao, I finally said yes and agreed to go. I managed to plan out my leave and things worked out well. It was destined for me to go. It's gonna be my first time also with Cebu Pacific so I was thrilled with my trip.

194-07-cebu-pacific.jpg

Nagkaroon pa kami nang unforgetable moment with her dad sa pagtakas nang sasakyan at pag-alis nang madaling araw. That was funny.

manila_20d..0facade.jpg

Jay prepared everything for my vacation. He made sure of things like lodging, schedule, pagsundo at paghatid and etc. He was so excited that he slept early the day before I arrive there so he can pick me up at the airport. He told me that it's gonna be a hell of a ride as he planned for us to go to Butuan, Camiguin, Davao and Samal Island in my 6-day Mindanao vacation. Finally, one of my dreams is about to happen. Even when I was a child, pangarap ko na talaga ang makapunta nang Mindanao kahit laging ina-associate ang terorismo doon.

December 19, 2007
Pagdating ko doon, he was standing, waiting for me and ready to pick my bags. I felt happy to see him again. It was so unbelieveable that because of him, nakapunta ako nang Mindanao. I have friends na from Mindanao and been inviting me for their festivals, pero di ako matuloy tuloy. Nangyari pa ang lahat nang ito with a complete stranger. And yes, I had some fears in saying yes to go there. Pero hindi ko na inintindi. As I've said, I kinda feel some trust for him kaya I did not worry that much. At siyempre, ang alam nang mom ko, I am with my co-workers. Hehe.

Pagsakay nang kinontrata niyang cab, he held my hand and said he missed me. That time, I felt I was with a boyfriend. That's the feeling. And that time, I was so sure that I am safe and will have a great time. A wonderful feeling to have in my first day in Mindanao...

The first meeting

This is how it changed everything...

dating1.jpg

...He texted me that he's in Manila (by the way, he is from Cagayan De Oro). The first unusual question I had was, "Why didn't he inform me that he'll be here?". He's been telling me that when he goes here, he'll let me know beforehand so he can see me. But all of a sudden, I was just noticed that he's already here.

Then all doubts and negative thoughts came in to my mind. I started questioning his character. I even began comparing him to others thinking na katulad din siya nang iba. Inisip ko din, baka may mga imemeet siyang iba and I'm not one of his priorities sa trip niya (i started becoming possessive at that very point). Or there is someone who is so special that made him go here. You know, those things...

So nagfeeling-feelingan akong boyfriend at nagtampu-tampuhan. But he entertained my tantrums at sinakyan ang finifeel ko. Para mawala ang tampo ko, he asked me na makipagkita sa kanya so he can explain at mawala lahat nang doubts ko. Siyempre, I then realized na nag-oover react ako kaya back to normal mode ako. We arranged our meeting and agreed to finally to see him.

Gloria Jeans. Glorietta. Makati.

other_logo.jpg

That is where we met. An afternoon of non-stop conversation and coffee. He shared his life. His past. He did a lot of talking and I did a lot of listening. But at the same time, I was observing him already. I started watching his moves, the way he talks, yung personality niya. I was already thinking if he can be a potential partner. Yes, he has the looks, the body, not really with the height but it was fine, the profession, and the lips (of course, can't miss that). But again, after checking on those, I went back to the "friend" mode at baka sa kakacheck ko sa kanya, he just wants me as his friend lang pala so back to safe mode.

After coffee, he decided to watch a movie. I asked him what movie he wants to see. He said that he barely watch some movies but if there's a funny tagalog film, that would be his choice. So we went ahead and watched "Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat" which suppose to be the movie that I and my last date before going to the states will see. That was the only tagalog movie, and good thing, it's a funny film.

APATDAPAT.jpg

So we went inside, just like having a normal friendly movie watching. Sobrang naaliw kami sa movie because it was so funny. Hehe. But in the middle of the film, he grabbed my hand and held it until we finish the movie. He just did the right thing. I enjoyed it (the movie and the gesture). I felt "something" but I told myself not to entertain it.

After the movie, we had a dinner and continued some conversation. He was very open and started to share things which I did not intend to know. But he was so willing so I listened. Iniisip ko nga why he's telling me those things if we're just in a friendly date. Inakala ko pang nang-aasar pa siya.

Then before we said goodbye to each other, he asked me to visit him there in Cagayan De Oro so we can have more time. He started telling me about Mindanao which I became interested (as i really have a desire to see mindanao). He told me he'll bring me to different places that will surely mesmerize me. It was catchy. The offer was good. He even promised that I can have a lot of good pictures there and he'll take care of me when I get there. So, the only thing I said was, "let's see..".

A TEXT of an unknown chapter

Is this gonna be the start of a new chapter in my life?

070129_cel..texting.jpg

I have this regular textmate for months whom I considered as my ghost friend (since i have never seen him). Constant naman ang texting namin but it was too general and friendly (or should i say boring and uninteresting). Kaya I've never given too much attention to him.

We started texting June of 2007. I don't want to ellaborate how we've known each numbers. Basta things started to connect our destiny for an unknown reason. In the same month was my birthday, which I have planned to celebrate it in my house. I even invited him, which became a shock to him, dahil I was so comfortable of doing that. Hindi naman kami ganun magkakilala pa. For some reason, I wasn't hesitant to invite him. I felt that I can trust him. But due to his hectic schedule, he declined the invite.

Months passed and we continued texting. Hanggang pumunta ako nang states nang October. Before I left, I remember that he was consistent of reminding me to take care when I get there. It was sweet but I took it as a normal friendly reminder lang. When I was there, tuloy tuloy pa rin ang text niya (and don't get me wrong, all of his texts are in a friendly context kaya di din ako nag-assume that it's "something")

I can also recall those few people na tinawagan ko during my stay there: My mom, My bestfriend, My ex and Him. For another reason that I don't know, naglong distance ako para tawagan siya at kamustahin. We talked and reminded each other to take care. But during that time, I wasn't giving too much attention to him pa rin. Maybe because I was so in touched with my Ex when I was there and I met a guy there. Although I promised him of pasalubong para when we decided to meet, I have something to give to him. His request was a white underwear as he is fond of wearing those, so I bought him one box sa Old Navy. It was the sexiest pasalubong request I've ever encountered in my travel escapades.

CIMG0733.jpg

When I came back, we kept exchanging text pa din. Still, nothing romantic but he's starting to get in to my system. Sanay na akong nakakatanggap nang text from him. But then, I started to get busy with work and lalong hindi na siya nabigyan nang pansin. Then come November, I received a message from him that grambled my mind.....
